Testing the Impact of Pattern-based Ontology Refactoring on Ontology Matching Results

چکیده
We observe the impact of ontology refactoring, based on detection of name patterns in the ontology structure, on the results of ontology matching. Results of our experiment are evaluated using novel logic-based measures accompanied by an analysis of typical effects. Although the pattern detection method only covers a fraction of ontological errors, there seems to be a measurable effect on the quality of the resulting matching.

Centralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems
Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...
متن کاملAdding a Pre processing Phase to ASMOV for Improving the Alignment Result
Ontology matching is one of the most important challenges in the semantic web. It is a technique which is used to find the semantic correspondences between entities which are modeled in different ontologies. Despite many research efforts in ontology matching, the matching process still suffers from severe problems with respect to the quality of the matching results. Furthermore, finding the cor...
متن کاملAn Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
متن کاملA Pattern-driven Approach to Biomedical Ontology Engineering
Developing ontologies can be expensive, time-consuming, as well as difficult to develop and maintain. This is especially true for more expressive and/or larger ontologies. Some ontologies are, however, relatively repetitive, reusing design patterns; building these with both generic and bespoke patterns should reduce duplication and increase regularity which in turn should impact on the cost of ...
متن کاملOWL Matching Patterns Backed by Naming and Ontology Patterns
The paper introduces a novel concept of ontology matching patterns firmly based on the OWL language. Such a matching pattern consists of source and target ontology patterns, and involves naming patterns for detecting the ontology patterns as well as the matching pattern as such. We provide definitions of the matching pattern’s constituents along with illustrative examples. Furthermore, we discu...
